Experience the finest luxury lighting while you do your Christmas shopping!

About, ooh, once a day we are asked, "where can our client see one in London". And the answer is usually, "nowhere". However, that's not always true, because when the world's finest luxury brands open showrooms, they realise the importance of putting in a spiffing chandelier, even in London. And so it is that, when you are next in Selfridges' Wonder Room, you will see three important installations – and, across the road, there is another one.

Bucherer, the world's top international luxury watch destination, has a custom Cosmos from Quasar:

The manager remarks on how popular it is with customers.

It is a very good example of a fine lighting feature catching the eye, and therefore drawing attention to the window, in a visually crowded environment. See how it stands out from a distance, like a beacon….

Opposite, in Cartier, there is a substantial Little Balance composition from Windfall:

In fact, there is one in almost every Cartier showroom so, wherever in the World your client happens to be, there is always a publicly-accessible reference site near by:

Bulgari chose a calm, elegant, refined Ecos chandelier from the fine Venetian glassworks, Vistosi:

And the wonderful chandelier, on the other side of Oxford Street in Watches of Switzerland, is a custom Geometric Storm from Willowlamp:

Most of Adam's work is, well, curvier. But these strict, straight lines match the shape of the stairwell. The colour chosen for the stands of metal ball chain matches the palette of the rest of the showroom:

This exercise will also demonstrate what I keep telling you -- that no picture can ever do justice to the impact such fine lighting has when seen for real -- this is not only true of crystal.

So we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The chance to see these thrilling lighting installations is a sort of present to you. But, if you can't face the Christmas and sale crowds, they will still be there to brighten a dark, wet January or February day.

Just as they could your project!
